Tasting Notes

A slightly more robust style, it greets the senses with a rich nose of ripe plum, lifted by whispers of clove and the earthly allure of Tarkine forest. On the palate, layers of dark cherry unfold with soft savoury spice, framed by fine, graceful tannins. This is a pinot that balances power with poise, echoing the rugged coastline and pure ocean breezes of its origin. Exquisite alongside slow-braised venison ragu or a chargrilled porter house steak, it is a true expression of Tasmania’s east coast soul

WINE TECH

Hand-picked fruit from cane-pruned vines. The blend comprises four Pinot Noir clones: D2V5, G5V15, D5V12 and MV6.

The majority of the fruit was destemmed prior to fermentation, with 10% retained as whole bunch. Each clone was fermented separately and matured individually in French oak barriques for nine months, allowing each parcel to develop its own character and complexity before being blended in tank. The final blend was gently cross-flowed prior to bottling.

A fantastic growing season ultimately delivering a parcel of exceptional cool-climate fruit. The fruit was allowed to ripen slowly and develop through the cooler conditions, while the influence of coastal breezes and natural airflow helped maintain clean, healthy fruit throughout the season. The result was a distinctive and prized parcel of Pinot Noir, capturing the richness, freshness and unique character of our East Coast Tasmanian site.
